Jebony Violine/Viola -für Saitenweite ab/for string width from 36mm

Ebenholzdämpfer "Jebony" (seit 2017 in 1.0) mit integriertem Metallgewicht/Magnet für einen schönen "Sordino-Ton"

Der Jebony Dämpfer ist aus geöltem, fein ausgeschnittenem Ebenholz und sorgsam gefertigt „made in Germany“. Er wird auf den Steg aufgesetzt und dämpft dadurch die Schwingungsübertragung von den Saiten auf den Resonanzkorpus. Der Klang wird etwas leiser, weicher und „nasaler“, aber er bleibt sehr klar und obertonreich durch das Material. Erstmals taucht der Sordino-Dämpfer im 18. Jahrhundert in der Literatur auf. Der Jebony-Dämpfer kann dauerhaft auf den Saiten verbleiben und bei Bedarf schnell von der Ruheposition am Saitenhalter zum Steg geschoben werden. Auch diese Idee (inkl. Magnet) gab es schon im 19. Jhd! Wichtig ist eine gute Passform des Dämpfers auf dem Steg und der direkte Kontakt mit dem Ebenholz. Die Form ergibt sich aus dem Aufbau mit Steg und Saiten. Unsere 1.0 Version kam 2017 auf den Markt, aber wir waren noch nicht zufrieden genug mit den Details. Es hat etwas gedauert, aber wir haben nun mit unserer 2.0 Version das Handling deutlich optimiert und ein schön anzufassendes und anzusehendes Produkt kreiert. Für Saitenweiten bis 36.5 (gerade gemessen) paßt neben dem Violadämpfer auch der Violindämpfer.

Hinweise:

-es ist kein Kinderspielzeug, da es verschluckbare (Einzel-)teile sind

-Ebenholz ist ein Naturprodukt, daher sind braune/helle Holz Einschlüsse normal

-bitte vorsichtig anpassen. Natürlich kann ein auf das Instrument fallender Dämpfer kleine Beschädigungen verursachen. Sind Sie unsicher, dann fragen Sie Ihren Geigenbauer/Geigenbauerin

-Drehen Sie die Schrauben nicht zu weit heraus. Der Dämpfer muß auf dem Steg „klemmen“, um ein Abfallen beim Spiel auszuschließen.

-Wir haften nicht für Schäden durch unsachgemäße oder grobmotorische Nutzung

Benutzung/Lieferumfang
Im gelieferten Beutel befindet sich der Dämpfer, eine Klemmviole zur Befestigung am Saitenhalter und ein Inbusschlüssel zur Anpassung an den Steg.
Durch die zwei Schrauben läßt sich die Breite und der Winkel individuell einstellen.

Ebony mute “Jebony” (since 2017 Vers.1.0) with integrated metal weight/magnet for a beautiful “sordino tone”

The Jebony mute is made of oiled, finely carved ebony and carefully crafted “made in Germany”. It is placed on the bridge and dampens the transmission of vibrations from the strings to the resonating body. The sound is somewhat quieter, softer and more “nasal”, but it remains very clear and rich in overtones thanks to the material. The Sordino mute first appeared in literature in the 18th century. The Jebony mute can remain permanently on the strings and can be quickly moved from its resting position on the tailpiece to the bridge if necessary. This idea (incl. magnet) also existed in the 19th century! It is important that the mute fits well on the bridge and makes direct contact with the ebony. The shape results from the construction with bridge and strings. Our 1.0 version came onto the market in 2017, but we were not yet satisfied enough with the details. It took a while, but with our 2.0 version we have now significantly optimized the handling and created a product that is beautiful to touch and look at. For string gauges up to 36.5 (measured straight) the violin mute fits as well as the viola mute.

Notes:
-it is not a children's toy, as there are (individual) parts that can be swallowed
-Ebony is a natural product, therefore brown/light wood inclusions are normal
-Please adjust carefully. Of course, a mute falling on the instrument can cause minor damage. If you are unsure, please ask your violin maker

Do not unscrew the screws too far. The damper must “clamp” on the bridge to prevent it from falling off when playing.

Use/Scope of delivery
The bag supplied contains the mute, a clamping viole for attachment to the tailpiece and an Allen key for adjustment to the bridge.
The width and angle can be individually adjusted using the two screws.
